I was in a bad mood.

A really bad mood.

Normally, mornings were my favorite — full of energy, smiles, and, most importantly, my daily recent ritual of convincing Nisha to let me drive her to work. It had taken a lot of effort to get her to agree the first time, and somehow, I managed to make it a regular thing. Every morning, I'd show up at her doorstep with a wide grin and an overenthusiastic "Good morning, Sunshine!" — a greeting that annoyed her to no end. But no matter how much she glared, scowled, or threatened and slammed the door in my face, she always ended up sitting beside me in the car.
